Learning Support
At Highfield we believe that all children should be given the chance to reach their full potential across all areas of the curriculum with appropriate challenge and support. Every girl is seen as an individual and taught through a personalised approach to learning.
Whilst the majority of the children’s needs are met within the classroom, some children will require an extra helping hand in the form of more intensive small group or individual support.
Every student can learn. Just not on the same day or in the same way.

Working in partnership with parents, carers and pupils, Highfield Learning Support Department supports learners across the school. The qualified learning support team work with children throughout the school with educational, social, emotional or physical needs. During the school day children are provided with this extra support within the classroom or in the quiet and comfortable sanctuary room. Parents are able to see their daughter’s achievements online through the SeeSaw app and are regularly invited in to discuss progress and play a vital part in setting new targets for their child to work towards.
Every girl is given the opportunity in Pre-Prep and Prep take part in the 'Highfield Super Stars' programme designed to foster emotional well-being and resilience. The groups give the girls the opportunity to express and process their feelings with trained staff who facilitate discussions and provide coping strategies that they can use throughout their lives.
