Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
DEI
One of the very best features about the Highfield community is its diverse community and as a group we want to ensure that this diversity is celebrated and is an environment where pupils, staff and parents feel that they belong and where everyone can thrive and grow, not despite our differences but because of them!Â
You will see that through everything that we do we are passionate in ensuring that everyone from all cultures and nationalities feel as though our schools are safe spaces in which they can celebrate their backgrounds. It is vital that our pupils, staff and parents feel as though their voices are being listened to and all ideas are welcome in creating a wider voice for diversity, equity and inclusion.
What does Diversity, Equity and Inclusion stand for at Highfield?
Diversity
We recognise, respecting and celebrating each other's differences. Our diverse environment is one with a wide range of backgrounds and mindsets, which allows for an empowered culture of creativity and innovation.
Equity
We seek to ensure fair treatment, equality of opportunity, and fairness in access to information and resources for all. We believe this is only possible in an environment built on respect and dignity.
Inclusion
We endeavour to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Our ultimate aim at Highfield is for all our children to leave our schools well-rounded in the widest sense: their minds will be open; the horizons broad and hearts open to all citizens around them. It is not just about learning through a ‘new lens’ but learning through a ‘diverse, equitable and inclusive lens.’ They will be fully equipped to live and thrive in a multi-cultural world, where they will model tolerance, inclusion and respect, as a result of their education at Highfield.

“Highfield is the very best of schools. It has been perfect for our daughter and I couldn’t ask for more. It’s family culture sets it apart and it has all the right values. It is diverse, inclusive, teaches right and wrong from an early stage and aims to produce kind and clever girls who are aware of the world and care for the people around them. We did consider moving our daughter to be in the same school as our son for ease but we couldn’t do it!”
