Sports

Sport sits firmly at the heart of the curriculum with our busy, vibrant school providing our pupils with the opportunity to learn new skills, challenge themselves, work as a team and simply have fun!

At Highfield sport is for all and there is a comprehensive physical education curriculum, which begins in the Pre-Prep. Teams provide opportunities for all children to represent the school competitively in gymnastics, athletics, swimming, hockey, netball and cricket.

Highfield girls punch well above their weight and are often performing at regional and national level.

Pupils are taught by a specialist sports teacher who offer a wide variety of sports. All children get the opportunity to play in competitive matches through fixtures against other schools from Year 3 upwards. There is a full programme of weekday fixtures that take place in each of the three terms against local schools, as well as in District, County and National tournaments, including competing in major IAPs competitions. Some girls have tasted success, winning national competitions, with some having gained county and national team placements.

Sport is important to us and whilst we may not have acres of green space, this doesn’t hinder our passion and enthusiasm in any way! We support and use the best local facilities on offer without having to pay for their upkeep.
